Why Choose Resiliency?
Resiliency was born out of a desire to educate and empower families on their journey towards becoming parents in the most supportive way possible.
As cliche as it sounds- Amy has always been fascinated by the miracle of pregnancy and birth. She said "yes" to the calling of midwifery after being a high risk OB nurse and doula for many years. At one point, she had attended a birth as a doula and the midwife pulled her aside and said “you should really think about going back to school to become a midwife.” Honestly, Amy never saw herself as a provider, she is much more keen on blending into the background and witnessing birth for all that it is. However, she found herself unable to keep saying "no" when it came up.
Now that she has been practicing as a full-scope midwife for over three years- she gets to be the kind of provider that empowers her patients to make informed and safe decisions for themselves and their baby. Ultimately, her goal is for moms to have the loudest voice in their care. She sees her role as being a presence in case of emergencies, but she truly believes you have everything within you to bring your baby earth side.
"My hope is that every woman who is walking this journey for the first or tenth time feels loved and seen during their pregnancy and postpartum."
Being a provider in the birth space, Amy has experienced the highest of joys and the lowest of sorrows walking with women. It is a very common belief that being a midwife is super fun and sweet because...BABIES. The reality is, at least for Amy, is the care she gives to the mom, the woman. The word "Midwife" actually means “with woman.” This is exactly what Amy loves to do -- show up for the amazing & strong woman in her life who just needs a space to share and "be." Providers can go to all of the schooling but that is not what makes you an excellent provider. Perhaps one of the greatest skills as a healthcare professional is the ability to listen. Amy views her job as educating you on what is the most evidenced-based information so you can make the most informed decision for you and your family.
4 Things That Set Resiliency Apart
It is a fundamental belief of Resiliency that everyone is making the best decisions they can with the knowledge they have
We don’t have the right to tell you how to give birth or whether breastfeeding is the best option for you and your family. Our role is to support you, fully and wholly
We believe that birth is safest when the least amount of intervention is offered
We believe that everyone deserves midwifery care
Dr. Amy Reinke
DNP, CNM, IBCLC
Amy has chosen education, midwifery, and lactation as her career, but really she can’t remember a day where she didn’t love being with people. Amy is a people person and loves sharing what she has had the honor to witness in the birth space over the past 10 years.
How you choose to birth and how your birth story unfolds matter.
It is Amy's desire to walk alongside you and your family from the very beginning. The Supporting You Childbirth Education Course not only talks about pregnancy and birth but focuses on the wild transformation that takes place from woman to mother.
As a previous nurse, doula, and aunt to many- she has seen how powerful it can be to have the support of a trusted guide with you along the way.

“You truly have a gift delivering babies and taking care of moms and dads. You helped us accomplish our goal of going all natural when no other professional seemed to care. This is a gift we will NEVER forget! You are the best of the best and it’s such a God story how it all worked out for us to meet you and have you guide us through this most precious time.”
“I want to thank Amy for an incredible birthing experience! I felt so empowered and supported- I couldn’t have asked for more.”
“I couldn't imagine going through this monumental season in my life without Amy--she was a God-send. Her willingness to help us out at the last moment truly displayed her love for the birthing process and babies. She is sweet, gentle, knowledgeable and most importantly, calm!Through my labor, Amy was able to talk me through everything that was going on and kept me calm as it progressed.I can't thank her enough for her being by my husband and my side as our sweet baby girl entered this world!”
“Amy helped usher in a miracle that our hearts had been desiring for over half of a decade. I’m most grateful to God for the birth of our healthy baby girl. But our family is also deeply thankful for Amy and for all the ways she loved and served our family with such skill and grace during our birth journey. There isn’t another soul I would rather have had present for this moment in time. Our Harvest was born 8 days past her due date at 8:54 pm after 44 hours of labor weighing in at almost 10 lb. She is a longing fulfilled and in every way possible, our treasure.”
“...Not one single time during my labor was I worried or concerned. She anticipated my needs, kept me hydrated and stayed so calm the entire time while directing my focus back on my breath every time a contraction was too much for me. I can’t imagine having gone through the most exhilarating and physically grueling event of my life without Amy."
Frequently Asked Questions
No not at all. There’s a time and place for hospital birth classes. But this class goes into more details of the birthing process and focuses a lot on the 4th trimester which goes way under noticed.
Any birthing mom can benefit from this class. No matter where you deliver- you need to believe in yourself to bring you baby into the world.
Absolutely! You are still a pregnant mom who is about to bring life into the world in the bravest way possible.
Yes! It would be the perfect refresher and you might even benefit more from the postpartum portion.
Oh for sure- an epidural is just a tool in our toolbox in labor which is talked about in this class. I love demystifying that perception that you can absolutely have a midwife even if you want an epidural. And you still would benefit from a childbirth education course- maybe even more so!
